Is Time Travel Possible?

Time travel is one of the most fascinating fact of cosmology and physics so far. The effect of time travel in the future on our lives will be dramatic. Time travel is my favorite topic and i am sure that you all know much about it and if not then keep reading. To get a clear idea of time travel, we should first learn about time itself. We are all travelling in time and there is no doubt about it. Last December I completed my 20 years of journey through time and it was awesome. We can say that we travel in time with the speed of 1 year per year or 1 minute per minute. Well, it is sure that I am not writing this article for an ordinary experiences of our daily lives and you are not wasting your time by reading this, so let’s get to the main point.

Time is also considered as a fourth dimension, but I don’t want to discuss this topic here. Time can separate two events. Let’s just think for a second that what would happen if
you eliminate time from whole universe? Eliminating time will cause disorder and everything thing will happen at once and we won’t be able to tell what happened first and what next. So time is comprises of past, present and future. Time travel is a concept of travelling between two points with different time and one point for sure is present. One point will always remain the present for the person who is travelling through time. Now there are two possibilities of moving one point (present) and that are in the future or past. Moving in past is still facing paradoxes so I will not touch it here, but I will write about it in the next article. Time travel in actual sense is to moving from present to future and meeting older you or in past where you can find things related to past and this kind of time travel is not possible so far.
But there are some ways in which we can slow down our time and can pop up in future. This is not the actual sense of time travel but it is quite interesting. You can slow down your time while the whole world will be on fast mode as compared to you. Doing this is not hypothetical. Slowing down your time is practically possible. This idea of time travelling in the forward direction is based on Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. In fact, we daily do time travel. According to the theory of relativity faster you move, the slower time will be. So when we are travelling in a car or train we are not just simply travelling distances but also travelling through time. This effect on time is negligible, but it happens. Let me give you an example. Let us assume that you were 15 years old when you left Earth in a spaceship traveling at almost 99.5% of the speed of light, and celebrated only five dates of birth during your space journey in a spacecraft that can travel at 99.5% speed of light. After five years when you get home at the age of almost 20, you will probably find that all the people you know like your classmates were 65 years old. Because time passed more slowly for you because of the speed you were travelling with, you will have experienced only five years of your life, on the other hand your classmates will have experienced 50 years. If your voyage began in 2013, it would have taken you just 5 years to travel to the year 2063. So time travel (in a sense) in the future is possible and soon will be observable. Wormholes are also helpful for travelling through time, but this is only hypothetically possible. There are many other ways that can help slowing the rate of time like gravity.

"I do believe in time travel. Time travel to the future. Time flows like a river and it seems as if each of us is carried relentlessly along by time's current. But time is like a river in another way. It flows at different speeds in different places and that is the key to travelling into the future. This idea was first proposed by Albert Einstein over 100 years ago."
